Write Here, Write Now 2016

We are delighted to announce that following the huge success of this year’s Write Here, Write Now competition in association with Hot Press Magazine, the competition will run again in 2016.

An all-Ireland competition, it is open to all 5th and 6th year secondary school students and all third level students.

Students will be invited to think about their own sense of what it is to be from the island of Ireland, or to live here. They will be encouraged to consider their own sense of identity in the light of the events of 1916 as described in Fallen – and the impact these events had on the lives of ordinary people of every social, political and religious background here at the time. And they will be asked to write A STORY OF IRELAND. Full details of the competition are available via Hot Press Magazine’s website www.hotpress.com/writeherewritenow

The 2016 Write Here, Write Now competition is a collaborative project between Dublin: One City, One Book and Hot Press Magazine in association with Libraries Northern Ireland. This project is kindly supported by the Ireland 2016 office.
